TBWA/Chiat/Day Locker Door Wall Relief ("Hat Specs") by Gaetano Pesce

This door features a sculpted hat and pair of glasses, placed one above the other with clear spacing. Gaetano Pesce uses these simple elements to suggest personality, character and presence without depicting a figure.

These sculptural panels were locker doors for employees at TBWA/Chiat/Day’s New York office in 1994. With no assigned desks or offices, employees stored their belongings in these vibrant, acrylic painted lockers—each one entirely unique. The panels embodied Gaetano Pesce’s belief in diversity and imperfection, turning everyday storage into a bold statement of individuality within a fluid, paperless workplace.
