TBWA/Chiat/Day Locker Door Wall Relief ("Suit") by Gaetano Pesce
Gaetano Pesce transforms the outline of a business suit into a low-relief sculpture, complete with collar and buttons. This piece plays with ideas of professionalism and identity, adding softness to corporate iconography.
These sculptural panels were locker doors for employees at TBWA/Chiat/Day’s New York office in 1994. With no assigned desks or offices, employees stored their belongings in these vibrant, acrylic painted lockers—each one entirely unique. The panels embodied Gaetano Pesce’s belief in diversity and imperfection, turning everyday storage into a bold statement of individuality within a fluid, paperless workplace.
