Marcela Cure

Marcela Cure is a multidisciplinary designer and artist from Colombia. Raised in a creative household by an artist mother, her upbringing was infused with artistic expression and the vibrant cultural energy of her hometown of Barranquilla. After earning a degree in engineering, Marcela soon found herself organically gravitating towards design and interiors. Her eclectic, upbeat, and Latin-rooted interpretations of contemporaneity started shaping residential, corporate, and hospitality interiors alike. Eventually, these spaces served as a canvas for her sculptural explorations—works that juxtapose femininity and bodily strength with architectural precision.

With a strong focus on handcrafted quality and materiality, Marcela works primarily with stone, resin, wood, and concrete for her objects. From wooden sets with stone inlays to expressive wall sculptures, her pieces delve into the emotional and spatial dimensions of belonging. Her body of work balances the sleek with the organic, epitomizing a poetic dialogue between form, material, and imperfection.

Marcela’s studio is structured around three main pillars. The Marcela Cure Studio provides full-service interior design and global virtual consultations. Her Cure Collection is an evolving shop of decorative pieces and tableware created by Marcela and collaborators. Her collectible design practice offers one-of-a-kind works such as brass and resin furniture, deeply rooted in conceptual and emotional exploration.

In 2024, Marcela presented her first solo exhibition at the Parisian gallery Slatoparra, a milestone in her evolution as an artist. Her collectible work has since been featured in leading galleries and international fairs including Design Miami, Collectible and Objective Gallery, establishing her as a distinct voice in the global design dialogue.
