The Shadow armchair (2007) by Gaetano Pesce for Meritalia is aground breaking, moldless piece of post-modern design, designed to resemble a"deconstructed" chair, where soft polyurethane foam is injected into a vinyl or fabric shell and allowed to expand unpredictably. Each chair is unique, with the foam hardening around the "negative space" of a body or "shadow", making it a functional, highly collectible piece of conceptual art.
